Middle East Geography

Your Group has been invited to investigate this topic and create a presentation appropriate to be shown in a Museum of Islam. Are you up for the task?

Task One: Read this introduction together as a group

Get a globe and locate this area on a map.

The Arabian Peninsula, or Arabia, is a piece of land in southwestern Asia. It is the original homeland of the Arab people. It is also the birthplace of the religion of Islam. The country of Saudi Arabia takes up about four fifths of the peninsula. The peninsula also includes Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Bahrain, and parts of Jordan and Iraq

Task Two:

Your group needs to research your topic further and collect notes on the essential ideas.  You will all need to watch the video below and take notes.  Then share your notes.  Be sure to include major vocabulary words in your notes that you feel are key words.  Define these words.

Here are your websites to collect your notes.  As you collect notes, focus on the positive aspects of the geography and the negative aspects.  Also collect key vocabulary words and keep in mind how you will create a simple MAP to teach others with absolute and relative locations.

 Task Three:

After sharing your findings, you will  create a paper slide presentation that your classmates can learn from.

**Include key ideas and concepts in your presentation in your own words and style.

**Include the positive and negative aspects of the geography of this region

**Include human and environmental interaction examples.

**Include pictures, text, etc., in creative ways to keep your audience engaged.

**Include narration

**Every member of the group should equally share in the "load".

**Include essential vocabulary (5-10 words) in your presentation.
